Rosin at Western Doggie Roundup 2018 – BOB

About Rosin

Rosin is a well-rounded dog with a very sound temperament. He is a home and family guardian who has had exposure to livestock but currently does not have any of his own to guard. Rosin is athletic with nice reach and drive weighing in at approximately 145 – 150 lbs. He meets the AKC breed standard for Anatolian Shepherd Dogs with no disqualifying faults, Embark Vet Clear.

Stud Dog

At this time, although we have two beautiful intact AKC female Anatolians, we are only offering stud dog service, frozen only, to select bitches with brucellosis negative and all required health testing.

Puppies

Rosin sired a litter in Virginia, and one in Valley Center, CA.

The Girls

Rosin sired a litter in Virginia, and one in Valley Center, CA.

Always on Alert

He’s always listening (and sniffing the
air) to what is happening near and far.
It’s a breed trait that they quard as far
as they can “see, hear and smell.”

Our History

Me holding a 5 1/2 week old Rosin

The Beginning

My first meeting with Rosin was in Northerm California, he and his littermates were about 5 1/2 months old.

By then I knew which puppy was going to be mine, as the breeder had chosen, so my visit was all about meeting him.

Since I am a professional violinist I took one of my violins up with me and one of the things I did while visiting the puppies was to play live music for them.

About Me

I started in this breed in 1994, with an
Anatolian rescue mix. I had never heard
of the Anatolian Shepherd Dog, but after
being asked multiple times if my dog
were an Anatolian, this prompted me
into researching the breed and local
breeders.

My research took me to
meeting a well-known long-time
breeder of Anatolians Quinn (Skip) and
Marilyn Harned of Sakarya Anatolians.
Not long after I got my first purebred
Anatolian from Sakarya Anatolians.

Health Tests

The Anatolian Shepherd Dog Club of America and AKC recommend Hip and Elbow testing at a minimum, for breeding stock. Rosin has both of those as well as his CHIC certification and a health screening from Embark.

Pedigrees

Rosin has an excellent pedigree with a French import on the sire’s side.

At Local Shows

Rosin has shown in California, Nevada, Arizona and Oregon.
